Mista Styles, formerly FreeStyle tha' Shogun, rose to fame as a founding member of the influential Nigerian rap group Trybesmen—formed in 1998 with eLDee the Don and Ka Boom the Detonator—during a pivotal moment in Nigerian hip-hop.
